Volunteers
Green-Up is blessed with incredible volunteers. These active, engaged citizens are as inspiring to us as we hope we are to them. If you care to join us, here's what you'll learn:
- Tree Identification
- Measuring and Mapping techniques,
- Tree Conditions & Health.
We'll provide you with reference materials for learning at home, and hands-on training in the field during the inventories. Our veteran volunteers love to share their knowledge and help to teach newcomers.
If you wish to join, please contact Vern or Chris,

Conducting Neighbourhood Forest Inventories:
Building Urban Forest Stewardship
Through this volunteer-based
tree inventory, Peterborough Green-Up facilitates an active learning environment where interested participants teach each other tree ID, mapping & measuring techniques, and urban forest stewardship strategies (It's a lot of fun too!) Through volunteer and homeowner interactions Green-Up is raising awareness of the benefits of trees in the city, and encourages homeowners and the City of Peterborough to help create a healthier urban environment. By volunteering with this inventory, you are helping Green-Up inspire neighbourhood forest stewardship at the community level.
